A. O Evangelho: A Boa Nova de Jesus Cristo
1. O amor e o propósito de Deus
· João 3:16: “Porque Deus amou o mundo de tal maneira que deu o seu Filho unigênito, para que todo aquele que nele crê não pereça, mas tenha a vida eterna.”
· Romanos 5:8: “Mas Deus prova o seu amor para conosco, em que Cristo morreu por nós, sendo nós ainda pecadores.”
· 1 João 4:9-10: “Nisto se manifestou o amor de Deus para conosco: em que Deus enviou seu Filho unigênito ao mundo, para que por meio dele vivamos. Nisto consiste o amor: não em que nós tenhamos amado a Deus, mas em que ele nos amou e enviou seu Filho como propiciação pelos nossos pecados.”
2. Pecaminosidade Humana
· Romanos 3:23: “Porque todos pecaram e carecem da glória de Deus.”
· Isaías 53:6: “Todos nós andávamos desgarrados como ovelhas; cada um se desviava pelo seu caminho; mas o Senhor fez cair sobre ele a iniquidade de nós todos.”
· Romanos 6:23: “Porque o salário do pecado é a morte, mas o dom gratuito de Deus é a vida eterna, em Cristo Jesus, nosso Senhor.”
3. O Sacrifício de Jesus
· 1 Coríntios 15:3-4: “Porque primeiramente vos entreguei o que também recebi: que Cristo morreu pelos nossos pecados, segundo as Escrituras, e que foi sepultado, e que ressuscitou ao terceiro dia, segundo as Escrituras.”
· 2 Coríntios 5:21: “Aquele que não conheceu pecado, ele o fez pecado por nós, para que nele fôssemos feitos justiça de Deus.”
· Hebreus 9:28: “Assim, Cristo, oferecendo-se uma vez para tirar os pecados de muitos, aparecerá segunda vez, não para remover o pecado, mas para salvar os que o aguardam.”
4. A Ressurreição
· Romanos 4:25: “O qual foi entregue por causa das nossas transgressões e ressuscitado para nossa justificação.”
· 1 Pedro 1:3: “Bendito seja o Deus e Pai de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo! Segundo a sua grande misericórdia, ele nos regenerou para uma viva esperança, por meio da ressurreição de Jesus Cristo dentre os mortos.”
· Atos 2:24: “Deus o ressuscitou, rompendo as garras da morte, porque não era possível que ela o retivesse.”
B. Salvação: o plano de Deus para resgatar pecadores.
1. Graça pela Fé
· Efésios 2:8-9: “Porque pela graça sois salvos, por meio da fé; e isto não vem de vós, é dom de Deus; não de obras, para que ninguém se glorie.”
· Tito 3:5: “Ele nos salvou, não por obras de justiça praticadas por nós, mas segundo a sua misericórdia, mediante o lavar regenerador e renovador do Espírito Santo.”
· Romanos 10:9-10: “Porque, se com a tua boca confessares Jesus como Senhor, e em teu coração creres que Deus o ressuscitou dentre os mortos, serás salvo. Pois com o coração se crê para a justiça, e com a boca se confessa para a salvação.”
2. Arrependimento e Fé
· Atos 3:19: “Arrependei-vos, pois, e convertei-vos, para que sejam apagados os vossos pecados.”
· Marcos 1:15: “O tempo está cumprido, e o reino de Deus está próximo. Arrependam-se e creiam no evangelho.”
· Lucas 24:46-47: “Assim está escrito que o Cristo havia de padecer e ressuscitar dentre os mortos ao terceiro dia, e que em seu nome seria pregado o arrependimento para remissão dos pecados, a todas as nações, começando por Jerusalém.”
3. Nova Vida em Cristo
· 2 Coríntios 5:17: “Portanto, se alguém está em Cristo, nova criatura é. As coisas velhas já passaram; eis que se fizeram novas.”
· João 1:12: “Mas, a todos quantos o receberam, deu-lhes o poder de serem feitos filhos de Deus: aos que crêem no seu nome.”
· Gálatas 2:20: “Já estou crucificado com Cristo. E vivo, não mais eu, mas Cristo vive em mim. E a vida que agora vivo na carne, vivo-a pela fé no Filho de Deus, que me amou e se entregou por mim.”
1. Vida Eterna
· João 10:28-29: “Eu lhes dou a vida eterna, e elas jamais perecerão, e ninguém as arrebatará da minha mão. Meu Pai, que mas deu, é maior do que todos, e ninguém pode arrebatá-las da mão do Pai.”
· João 5:24: “Em verdade, em verdade vos digo: quem ouve a minha palavra e crê naquele que me enviou tem a vida eterna. Não entra em juízo, mas passou da morte para a vida.”
· Romanos 8:38-39: “Porque eu estou certo de que nem a morte, nem a vida, nem anjos, nem principados, nem coisas presentes, nem futuras, nem poderes, nem altura, nem profundidade, nem qualquer outra criatura poderá nos separar do amor de Deus, que está em Cristo Jesus, nosso Senhor.”
2. O Selo do Espírito Santo
· Efésios 1:13-14: “Nele, também vós, tendo ouvido a palavra da verdade, o evangelho da vossa salvação, e nele credo, fostes selados com o Espírito Santo da promessa, que é o penhor da nossa herança até a redenção, para louvor da sua glória.”
· Romanos 8:16: “O próprio Espírito testifica com o nosso espírito que somos filhos de Deus.”
· 2 Coríntios 1:21-22: “E Deus é quem nos confirma convosco em Cristo, e nos ungiu, e nos selou, e nos deu o penhor do seu Espírito em nossos corações.”
D. Justificação, santificação e glorificação.
1. Pela fé através da graça
· Romanos 3:23-24: “Pois todos pecaram e carecem da glória de Deus, sendo justificados gratuitamente pela sua graça, mediante a redenção que há em Cristo Jesus.”
· Romanos 5: 1: “Portanto, havendo sido justificados pela fé, temos paz com Deus, por nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo.”
· Efésios 2:8-9: “Porque pela graça sois salvos, por meio da fé; e isto não vem de vós, é dom de Deus; não de obras, para que ninguém se glorie.”
· Gálatas 2:16: “Sabemos, porém, que o homem não é justificado pelas obras da lei, mas mediante a fé em Jesus Cristo. Assim também temos crido em Cristo Jesus, para sermos justificados pela fé em Cristo, e não pelas obras da lei; porque pelas obras da lei ninguém será justificado.”
· Tito 3:5-7: “Ele nos salvou, não por obras de justiça praticadas por nós, mas segundo a sua misericórdia, mediante o lavar regenerador e renovador do Espírito Santo, que ele derramou sobre nós ricamente, por Jesus Cristo, nosso Salvador, para que, justificados pela sua graça, nos tornemos herdeiros segundo a esperança da vida eterna.”
1. Separados para a Santidade
· 1 Tessalonicenses 4:3-4: “Porque esta é a vontade de Deus, a vossa santificação: que vos abstenhais da imoralidade sexual, e que cada um de vós saiba possuir o seu próprio corpo em santidade e honra.”
· Hebreus 10:14: “Porque, com uma única oferta, aperfeiçoou para sempre aqueles que estão sendo santificados.”
· Romanos 6:19: “Pois assim como vocês entregaram os seus membros no passado para servir à impureza e à iniquidade para levar à iniquidade, agora entreguem os seus membros para servir à justiça para santificação.”
· 1 Pedro 1:15-16: “Mas, assim como é santo aquele que vos chamou, sede vós também santos em toda a vossa maneira de viver, porque escrito está: Sede santos, porque eu sou santo.”
2. Obra do Espírito Santo
· 2 Coríntios 3:18: “E todos nós, com o rosto descoberto, refletindo como um espelho a glória do Senhor, segundo a mesma imagem estamos sendo transformados com glória cada vez maior, porque isto vem do Senhor, que é o Espírito.”
· Gálatas 5:22-23: “Mas o fruto do Espírito é: amor, alegria, paz, paciência, amabilidade, bondade, fidelidade, mansidão e domínio próprio. Contra estas coisas não há lei.”
· Filipenses 2:12-13: “Portanto, meus amados, assim como sempre obedecestes, não somente na minha presença, mas muito mais agora na minha ausência, desenvolvei a vossa salvação com temor e tremor; porque Deus é quem efetua em vós tanto o querer como o efetuar, segundo a sua boa vontade.”
3. Transformação Progressiva
· Romanos 12:1-2: “Rogo-vos, pois, irmãos, pela compaixão de Deus, que apresenteis os vossos corpos como um sacrifício vivo, santo e agradável a Deus, que é o vosso culto racional. E não vos conformeis com este mundo, mas transformai-vos pela renovação da vossa mente, para que experimenteis qual seja a boa, agradável e perfeita vontade de Deus.”
· Colossenses 3:10: “E vos vestistes do novo homem, que se renova para o pleno conhecimento, segundo a imagem do seu Criador.”
1. Transformação do Corpo
· Filipenses 3:20-21: “Mas a nossa cidadania está nos céus, de onde aguardamos o Salvador, o Senhor Jesus Cristo, que transformará o nosso corpo de humilhação, tornando-o semelhante ao seu corpo glorioso, pelo seu poder de até sujeitar a si todas as coisas.”
· 1 Coríntios 15:42-44: “Assim também acontece com a ressurreição dos mortos. O que é semeado é perecível; o que é ressuscitado é imperecível. … Semeia-se corpo natural, ressuscita corpo espiritual.”
· 1 Coríntios 15:51-52: “Eis que vos digo um mistério: Na verdade, nem todos dormiremos, mas todos seremos transformados, num momento, num piscar de olhos, ao som da última trombeta.”
2. Compartilhando a Glória de Deus
· Romanos 8:29-30: “Porque os que dantes conheceu, também os predestinou para serem conformes à imagem de seu Filho, a fim de que ele seja o primogênito entre muitos irmãos. E aos que predestinou, a estes também chamou; e aos que chamou, a estes também justificou; e aos que justificou, a estes também glorificou.”
· 2 Timóteo 2:12: “Se perseverarmos, também com ele reinaremos.”
· Apocalipse 21:3-4: “E ouvi uma grande voz vinda do trono, que dizia: Eis o tabernáculo de Deus com os homens. Ele habitará com eles, e eles serão o seu povo, e o próprio Deus estará com eles, como o seu Deus. Ele enxugará dos seus olhos toda lágrima, e a morte já não existirá.”
3. Herança Eterna
· 1 Pedro 1:4-5: “Para uma herança incorruptível, incontaminável e imarcescível, guardada nos céus para vós outros que sois guardados pelo poder de Deus, mediante a fé, para a salvação preparada para revelar-se no último tempo.”
· João 17: 22-24: “Eu lhes dei a glória que me deste, para que sejam um, como nós somos um: eu neles e tu em mim, para que sejam aperfeiçoados na unidade, para que o mundo conheça que tu me enviaste e os amaste como me amaste a mim.”

A. The Gospel: The Good News of Jesus Christ
1. God’s Love and Purpose
· John 3: 16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
· Romans 5: 8: “But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
· 1 John 4: 9-10: “In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.”
2. Human Sinfulness
· Romans 3: 23: “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
· Isaiah 53: 6: “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.”
· Romans 6: 23: “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
3. Jesus’ Sacrifice
· 1 Corinthians 15: 3-4: “For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.”
· 2 Corinthians 5: 21: “For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
· Hebrews 9: 28: “So Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.”
4. The Resurrection
· Romans 4: 25: “Who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification.”
· 1 Peter 1: 3: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”
· Acts 2: 24: “God raised him up, loosing the pangs of death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it.”
B. Salvation: God’s plan for rescuing sinners.
1. Grace Through Faith
· Ephesians 2: 8-9: “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”
· Titus 3: 5: “He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit.”
· Romans 10: 9-10: “Because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.”
2. Repentance and Faith
· Acts 3: 19: “Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out.”
· Mark 1: 15: “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.”
· Luke 24: 46-47: “Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, and that repentance for the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.”
3. New Life in Christ
· 2 Corinthians 5: 17: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”
· John 1: 12: “But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.”
· Galatians 2: 20: “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
1. Eternal Life
· John 10: 28-29: “I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.”
· John 5: 24: “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment but has passed from death to life.”
· Romans 8: 38-39: “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
2. The Holy Spirit’s Seal
· Ephesians 1: 13-14: “In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.”
· Romans 8: 16: “The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.”
· 2 Corinthians 1: 21-22: “And it is God who establishes us with you in Christ, and has anointed us, and who has also put his seal on us and given us his Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.”
D. Justification, sanctification, and glorification.
1. By Faith Through Grace
· Romans 3: 23-24: “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.”
· Romans 5: 1: “Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
· Ephesians 2: 8-9: “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”
· Galatians 2: 16: “Yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.”
· Titus 3: 5-7: “He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.”
1. Set Apart for Holiness
· 1 Thessalonians 4: 3-4: “For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor.”
· Hebrews 10: 14: “For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.”
· Romans 6: 19: “For just as you once presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness leading to sanctification.”
· 1 Peter 1: 15-16: “But as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, ‘You shall be holy, for I am holy.’”
2. Work of the Holy Spirit
· 2 Corinthians 3: 18: “And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.”
· Galatians 5: 22-23: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.”
· Philippians 2: 12-13: “Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.”
3. Progressive Transformation
· Romans 12: 1-2: “I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
· Colossians 3: 10: “And have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator.”
1. Transformation of the Body
· Philippians 3: 20-21: “But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.”
· 1 Corinthians 15: 42-44: “So is it with the resurrection of the dead. What is sown is perishable; what is raised is imperishable. … It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body.”
· 1 Corinthians 15: 51-52: “Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet.”
2. Sharing in God’s Glory
· Romans 8: 29-30: “For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.”
· 2 Timothy 2: 12: “If we endure, we will also reign with him.”
· Revelation 21: 3-4: “And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more.’”
3. Eternal Inheritance
· 1 Peter 1: 4-5: “To an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”
· John 17: 22-24: “The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me.”
