1. Fugindo da imoralidade sexual

Ou vocês não sabem que o corpo de vocês é santuário do Espírito Santo, que habita em vocês, proveniente de Deus? Vocês não são de si mesmos, pois foram comprados por bom preço. Portanto, glorifiquem a Deus no corpo de vocês.”
· 1 Tessalonicenses 4:3-5: “Porque esta é a vontade de Deus, a vossa santificação: que vos abstenhais da imoralidade sexual, e que cada um de vós saiba possuir o seu próprio corpo em santidade e honra, não na paixão da concupiscência, como os gentios que não conhecem a Deus.”
· Hebreus 13:4: “Digno de honra entre todos seja o matrimônio e o leito conjugal sem mácula, porque Deus julgará os impuros e os adúlteros.”
2. Evitando o adultério

1. Valor do celibato para o Reino
· Mateus 19:10-12: “Disseram-lhe os discípulos: Se tal é a condição do homem relativamente à sua mulher, é melhor não se casar. Mas ele lhes respondeu: Nem todos podem aceitar esta palavra, mas apenas aqueles a quem foi dado. Pois há eunucos que o são desde o nascimento, e há eunucos que foram feitos eunucos pelos homens, e há eunucos que se fizeram eunucos por causa do Reino dos céus. Aquele que pode aceitar isto, receba-o.”
· 1 Coríntios 7:7-8: “Gostaria que todos fossem como eu. Mas cada um tem o seu próprio dom de Deus, um de uma espécie e outro de outra. Digo aos solteiros e às viúvas que é bom que permaneçam solteiros, como eu.”
F. Sexualidade e a Nova Criação
1. Os corpos dos cristãos como templos
· 1 Coríntios 6:19-20: “Ou não sabeis que o vosso corpo é santuário do Espírito Santo, que habita em vós, proveniente de Deus? Vós não sois de vós mesmos, porque fostes comprados por bom preço. Glorificai, pois, a Deus no vosso corpo.”
· Romanos 12:1: “Rogo-vos, pois, irmãos, pela compaixão de Deus, que apresenteis os vossos corpos como um sacrifício vivo, santo e agradável a Deus, que é o vosso culto racional.”
2. O Corpo como Templo do Espírito Santo
· Romanos 6:12-13: “Não reine, portanto, o pecado em vosso corpo mortal, para obedecerdes às suas paixões. Não apresenteis os vossos membros ao pecado como instrumentos de iniquidade, mas oferecei-vos a Deus, como ressuscitados dentre os mortos, e os vossos membros a Deus, como instrumentos de justiça.”
· 1 Coríntios 6:15-16: “Não sabeis que os vossos corpos são membros de Cristo? Tomarei, pois, os membros de Cristo e os farei membros de uma prostituta? De modo nenhum! Ou ignorais que o que se une a uma prostituta torna-se um só corpo com ela? Pois, como está escrito: Os dois se tornarão uma só carne.”

3. Vivendo em Santidade e Pureza

4. Transformação do Coração
· Efésios 4:22-24: “Despi-vos do velho homem, que corresponde ao procedimento passado, corrompido pelas concupiscências enganosas, e vos renoveis no espírito da vossa mente, e vos revistais do novo homem, criado à semelhança de Deus, em justiça e santidade provenientes da verdade.”
· Gálatas 5:24: “E os que são de Cristo Jesus crucificaram a carne com as suas paixões e concupiscências.”
· 1 João 3:2-3: “Amados, agora somos filhos de Deus, e ainda não se manifestou o que havemos de ser. Mas sabemos que, quando ele se manifestar, seremos semelhantes a ele, porque o veremos como ele é. E todo aquele que nele tem esta esperança purifica-se a si mesmo, assim como ele é puro.”
5. Viver no Espírito
· Gálatas 5:16-17: “Digo, porém: andai pelo Espírito, e de modo algum satisfareis à concupiscência da carne, porque a concupiscência da carne é contrária ao Espírito, e a concupiscência do Espírito é contrária à carne; porque são opostos entre si, para vos impedirem de fazer o que quereis.”
· Romanos 8:13: “Porque se viverdes segundo a carne, morrereis; mas, se pelo Espírito mortificardes as obras do corpo, vivereis.”
6. Esperança e Pureza Futuras

God’s Plan for sexuality
1. Creation of Male and Female

· Genesis 2: 21-24: “So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he slept took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man. Then the man said, ‘This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.’ Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.”
2. God’s Intent for Complementary Roles

1. Fleeing Sexual Immorality
· 1 Corinthians 6: 18-20: “Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.”
· 1 Thessalonians 4: 3-5: “For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God.”
· Hebrews 13: 4: “Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled; for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.”
2. Avoiding Adultery
· Matthew 5: 27-28: “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”
· Proverbs 6: 32: “He who commits adultery lacks sense; he who does it destroys himself.”
3. Homosexuality
· Leviticus 18: 22: “You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.”
· Leviticus 20: 13: “If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.”
· Romans 1: 26-27: “For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.”
· 1 Corinthians 6: 9-10: “Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.”
· 1 Timothy 1: 9-10: “Understanding this, that the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers, the sexually immoral, men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine.”
1. Marriage as a Covenant
· Malachi 2: 14: “But you say, ‘Why does he not?’ Because the Lord was witness between you and the wife of your youth, to whom you have been faithless, though she is your companion and your wife by covenant.”

F. Sexuality and the New Creation
1. Christians’ Bodies as Temples
· 1 Corinthians 6: 19-20: “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.”
· Romans 12: 1: “I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.”
2. The Body as a Temple of the Holy Spirit
· Romans 6: 12-13: “Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, to make you obey its passions. Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness.”
· 1 Corinthians 6: 15-16: “Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? Never! Or do you not know that he who is joined to a prostitute becomes one body with her? For, as it is written, ‘The two will become one flesh.’”

3. Living in Holiness and Purity

· Colossians 3: 5-10: “Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. On account of these the wrath of God is coming. In these you too once walked, when you were living in them. But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth. Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator.”
4. Transformation of the Heart

5. Living in the Spirit
