1. A Cronologia do fim dos tempos.

• “E ouvireis falar de guerras e rumores de guerras. Olhai, não vos assusteis, porque é mister que isso aconteça, mas ainda não é o fim. Pois nação se levantará contra nação, e reino contra reino. E haverá fomes, pestes e terremotos em vários lugares. Mas todas essas coisas são o princípio das dores.” (Mateus 24:6-8)

• “Então surgirão muitos falsos profetas e enganarão a muitos. E, por se multiplicar a iniquidade, o amor de muitos esfriará. Mas aquele que perseverar até o fim será salvo.” (Mateus 24:11-13)

• “E este evangelho do reino será pregado em todo o mundo, em testemunho a todas as nações, e então virá o fim.” (Mateus 24:14)

• “Setenta semanas estão determinadas sobre o teu povo e sobre a tua santa cidade, para fazer cessar a transgressão, para dar fim aos pecados, para expiar a iniquidade, para trazer a justiça eterna, para selar a visão e a profecia, e para ungir o Santo dos Santos.” (Daniel 9:24)

• “Sabe e entende, pois, que desde a saída da ordem para restaurar e para edificar Jerusalém, até o Messias, o Príncipe, haverá sete semanas e sessenta e duas semanas; as ruas e os muros se reedificarão, sim, em tempos difíceis.” (Daniel 9:25)

• “Então ele firmará aliança com muitos por uma semana; mas na metade da semana fará cessar o sacrifício e a oferta. E sobre a asa das abominações estará o desolador, até que a consumação, que está determinada, se derrame sobre o desolado.” (Daniel 9:27)

• NOTA: A única coisa que precisa de explicação é a interpretação de “uma semana” de Daniel 9:27, que significa 7 anos — ou seja, cada dia equivale a um ano. Isso vem da profecia das “setenta semanas” de Daniel, capítulo 9, que está relacionada ao precedente de que levou 49 anos para reconstruir Jerusalém; 434 anos desde a conclusão do templo até a revelação do Messias Jesus, e a “semana” final de 7 anos. Esses anos totalizam 490 anos, o que equivale a 7 x 70 “semanas”. (Daniel 9:24-27) Isso é corroborado por Apocalipse 11, que menciona 42 meses, que são três anos e meio. (Os 42 meses de Apocalipse 11:2 são a “meia semana” de Daniel 9:27) Também é corroborado por Apocalipse 11:3, que diz que duas testemunhas profetizarão por três anos e meio.

• NOTA: Também parece, em Daniel 9:27 e Apocalipse 11, que o templo judaico foi reconstruído (mesmo que apenas parcialmente construído – estará em operação) nos anos que antecedem a tribulação. É aqui que o anticristo se assentará no lugar de Deus. (Mateus 24:15-16).

• “Então me foi dada uma cana semelhante a uma vara de medir. E o anjo, de pé, disse: ‘Levante-se e meça o templo de Deus, o altar e aqueles que nele adoram. Mas deixe de fora o pátio que está fora do templo, e não o meça, pois foi dado aos gentios. E eles pisarão a cidade santa durante quarenta e dois meses.’” (Apocalipse 11:1-2)

• “E o rei fará conforme a sua vontade; exaltar-se-á e engrandecer-se-á sobre todo deus, e falará blasfêmias contra o Deus dos deuses, e prosperará, até que a ira se cumpra; porque o que está determinado se cumprirá.” (Daniel 11:36)

• “Ninguém de maneira alguma vos engane, porque isso não acontecerá sem que primeiro venha a apostasia e seja revelado o homem do pecado, o filho da perdição, o qual se opõe e se levanta contra tudo o que se chama Deus ou é objeto de adoração, a ponto de assentar-se no santuário de Deus, ostentando-se como Deus.” (2 Tessalonicenses 2:3-4)

• “Portanto, quando vocês virem a abominação da desolação, de que falou o profeta Daniel, no lugar santo (quem lê, entenda), então, os que estiverem na Judeia, fujam para os montes.” (Mateus 24:15-16)

• “E ele se reunirá em forças, e profanarão o santuário, a fortaleza; então tirarão os sacrifícios diários, e estabelecerão ali a abominação da desolação.” (Daniel 11:31)

• “Porque haverá então grande tribulação, como nunca houve desde o princípio do mundo até agora, nem jamais haverá.” (Mateus 24:21)

• “Ele faz com que todos, pequenos e grandes, ricos e pobres, livres e escravos, recebam uma marca na mão direita ou na testa, para que ninguém possa comprar ou vender, exceto aquele que tiver a marca, ou o nome da besta, ou o número do seu nome.” (Apocalipse 13:16-17)

• “E darei poder às minhas duas testemunhas, e profetizarão por mil duzentos e sessenta dias, vestidas de saco.” (Apocalipse 11:3)

• “Logo depois da tribulação daqueles dias, o sol escurecerá, e a lua não dará a sua luz; as estrelas cairão do céu, e os poderes dos céus serão abalados.” (Mateus 24:29)

• “Então aparecerá no céu o sinal do Filho do Homem, e todas as tribos da terra se lamentarão, e verão o Filho do Homem vindo sobre as nuvens do céu, com poder e grande glória.” (Mateus 24:30)

• “Porque o mesmo Senhor descerá do céu com alarido, e com voz de arcanjo, e com a trombeta de Deus, e os mortos em Cristo ressuscitarão primeiro.” (1 Tessalonicenses 4:16)

• Depois nós, os que ficarmos vivos, seremos arrebatados juntamente com eles nas nuvens, ao encontro do Senhor nos ares. E assim estaremos para sempre com o Senhor. (1 Tessalonicenses 4:17)

• “Mas cada um por sua ordem: Cristo, as primícias, depois os que são de Cristo, na sua vinda.” (1 Coríntios 15:23)

• “E vi algo como um mar de vidro misturado com fogo, e os que venceram a besta, e a sua imagem, e o seu sinal, e o número do seu nome, em pé junto ao mar de vidro, e tinham harpas de Deus.” (Apocalipse 15:2)

• “Alegremo-nos, alegremo-nos e demos-lhe glória, porque são chegadas as bodas do Cordeiro, e a sua esposa já se preparou… Bem-aventurados aqueles que são chamados à ceia das bodas do Cordeiro!” (Apocalipse 19:7, 9)

• “E vi o céu aberto, e eis um cavalo branco. E o que estava assentado sobre ele chama-se Fiel e Verdadeiro… E seguiam-no os exércitos que estão no céu, vestidos de linho fino, branco e puro, em cavalos brancos.” (Apocalipse 19:11, 14)

• “E vi a besta, os reis da terra e os seus exércitos reunidos para fazerem guerra àquele que estava assentado no cavalo e ao seu exército… Estes dois foram lançados vivos no lago de fogo que arde com enxofre.” (Apocalipse 19:19-20)

• “Então vi descer do céu um anjo, que tinha a chave do abismo e uma grande corrente na mão. Ele prendeu o dragão, a antiga serpente, que é o Diabo e Satanás, e o amarrou por mil anos… para que não enganasse mais as nações, até que os mil anos se completassem.” (Apocalipse 20:1-3)

• “E eles (os santos) viveram e reinaram com Cristo durante mil anos.” (Apocalipse 20:4) (ver também Zacarias 14)

• “Agora, quando os mil anos tiverem terminado, Satanás será solto da sua prisão e sairá para enganar as nações… a fim de reuni-las para a batalha.” (Apocalipse 20:7-8)

• “Então vi um grande trono branco e o que estava assentado sobre ele… E vi os mortos, grandes e pequenos, em pé diante do trono, e abriram-se livros… E os mortos foram julgados segundo as suas obras, segundo as coisas que estavam escritas nos livros.” (Apocalipse 20:11-12)

• “E vi um novo céu e uma nova terra, porque o primeiro céu e a primeira terra já passaram. E o mar já não existe.” (Apocalipse 21:1)

• “Então eu, João, vi a cidade santa, a nova Jerusalém, que descia do céu, da parte de Deus, ataviada como uma esposa ataviada para o seu marido.” (Apocalipse 21:2)

• “E ouvi uma grande voz do céu, que dizia: Eis aqui o tabernáculo de Deus com os homens, pois com eles habitará, e eles serão o seu povo. O mesmo Deus estará com eles e será o seu Deus.” (Apocalipse 21:3)

• “E Deus enxugará dos seus olhos toda lágrima; e não haverá mais morte, nem pranto, nem clamor. E não haverá mais dor, porque já as primeiras coisas são passadas.” (Apocalipse 21:4)

• “E mostrou-me o rio puro da água da vida, claro como cristal, que procedia do trono de Deus e do Cordeiro… As folhas da árvore são para a cura das nações.” (Apocalipse 22:1-2)

1. The End-time Chronology, and God’s Plan.

• “Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.” (Matthew 24:11-13)

• “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.” (Matthew 24:14)

• “Seventy weeks are determined for your people and for your holy city, to finish the transgression, to make an end of sins, to make reconciliation for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy.” (Daniel 9:24)

• “Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the command to restore and build Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince, there shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublesome times.” (Daniel 9:25)

• “Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; but in the middle of the week he shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, even until the consummation, which is determined, is poured out on the desolate.” (Daniel 9:27)

• NOTE: The only thing that needs explanation is the interpretation of the “one week” of Daniel 9:27 meaning 7 years — that is, each day equates to a year.  This comes from Daniel chapter 9’s “seventy weeks” prophecy which is related to the precedent that it took 49 years to rebuild Jerusalem; 434 years from the completion of the temple to the revelation of Messiah Jesus, and the final ‘week’ of 7 years.  These years total 490 years, which is 7×70 ‘weeks’.  (Daniel 9:24-27)  This is supported by Revelation 11 which mentions 42 months, which is three and a half years.  (42 months of Revelation 11:2 is the “half week” of Daniel 9:27)  It is also supported by Revelation 11:3 which says two witnesses will prophecy for three and a half years.

• NOTE: It also appears from Daniel 9:27 and Revelation 11 that the Jewish temple has been rebuilt (even if only partially built – it will be in operation) in the years before the tribulation.  This is where the anti-christ will sit in the place of God. (Matthew 24:15-16).

• “Then I was given a reed like a measuring rod. And the angel stood, saying, ‘Rise and measure the temple of God, the altar, and those who worship there. But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it, for it has been given to the Gentiles. And they will tread the holy city underfoot for forty-two months.’” (Revelation 11:1-2)

• “And the king shall do according to his own will: he shall exalt and magnify himself above every god, shall speak blasphemies against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the wrath has been accomplished; for what has been determined shall be done.” (Daniel 11:36)

• “Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.” (2 Thessalonians 2:3-4)

• “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (whoever reads, let him understand), then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.” (Matthew 24:15-16)

• “And forces shall be mustered by him, and they shall defile the sanctuary fortress; then they shall take away the daily sacrifices, and place there the abomination of desolation.” (Daniel 11:31)

• “For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.” (Matthew 24:21)

• “He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.” (Revelation 13:16-17)

• “And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.” (Revelation 11:3)

• “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.” (Matthew 24:29)

• “Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” (Matthew 24:30)

• “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.” (1 Thessalonians 4:16)

• “Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.” (1 Thessalonians 4:17)

• “But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming.” (1 Corinthians 15:23)

• “And I saw something like a sea of glass mingled with fire, and those who have the victory over the beast, over his image and over his mark and over the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, having harps of God.” (Revelation 15:2)

• “Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready… Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!” (Revelation 19:7, 9)

• “Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True… And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses.” (Revelation 19:11, 14)

• “And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army… These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone.” (Revelation 19:19-20)

• “Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years… that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished.” (Revelation 20:1-3)

• “And they (the saints) lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.” (Revelation 20:4)  (see also Zechariah 14)

• “Now when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations… to gather them together to battle.” (Revelation 20:7-8)

• “Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it… And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened… And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.” (Revelation 20:11-12)

• “Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea.” (Revelation 21:1)

• “Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.” (Revelation 21:2)

• “And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, ‘Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.’” (Revelation 21:3)

• “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” (Revelation 21:4)
