Biblical Concepts
1. Creation.
· Genesis 1: 1: “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”
· Genesis 1: 26-27: “Then God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.’ … So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.”
· Colossians 1: 16: “For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.”
· Psalm 33: 6: “By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, and by the breath of his mouth all their host.”
· Revelation 4: 11: “Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.”
2. Fall.
· Genesis 2: 16-17: “And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, ‘You may surely eat of every tree of the garden, but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.’”
· Genesis 3: 6-7: “So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food … she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate. Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked.”
· Romans 5: 12: “Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned.”
· Romans 3: 23: “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
· Isaiah 59: 2: “But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear.”
3. Redemption.
· John 3: 16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
· Romans 5: 8: “But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
· Ephesians 1: 7: “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace.”
· 2 Corinthians 5: 17: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”
· Colossians 1: 13-14: “He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.”
· 1 Peter 2: 24: “He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.”
4. Restoration.
· Revelation 21: 1-4: “Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. … And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man.’”
· Acts 3: 21: “Whom heaven must receive until the time for restoring all the things about which God spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets long ago.”
· Isaiah 65: 17: “For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth, and the former things shall not be remembered or come into mind.”
· Romans 8: 19-21: “For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. … the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God.”
· 2 Corinthians 5: 19: “In Christ, God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them.”
5. God’s Future Plan.
· John 14: 2-3: “In my Father’s house are many rooms. … I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.”
· 1 Thessalonians 4: 16-17: “For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, … and so we will always be with the Lord.”
· Philippians 3: 20-21: “But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body.”
· 1 Corinthians 15: 51-52: “Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet.”
· Revelation 22: 3-5: “No longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will worship him. … And they will reign forever and ever.”
